Muslim women workers speak on their resource aspirations

Sathi is documenting what different women view their resource rights as and how they plan to get these right fulfilled. Steps will facilitate this meeting for input to a lobby document for the attention of government.

CWLR and HIC jointly organize a meeting on Women and Land in Johannusberg, South Africa

A meeting was held to discuss ideas on how a women resource right agenda could take off in South Africa. Toward this end members of Habitat International Coalition (HIC) and Consult for women and Land Rights (CWLR) met two groups in Johannesburg to discuss the possibilities of such an initiative under the theme of strengthening women and shelter network of HIC. CWLR provides technical support to networks and organizations to develop the women and resource rights work as part of ongoing agenda of civil society to lobby the government for the same. The meeting was hosted and chaired by Ms Rebecca A. Hamlin, Executive Director of Planact.

CWLR at the Uttaranchal Forum for Women Land and Resource Rights Meeting

CWLR presented the Women’s Resource Right Agenda (WRRA) and contributed to drawing up action plans for future work on women and land rights at the Uttaranchal Forum for Women, Land and Resource Rights Meeting from 26th to 27th May 2006. People associated with various NGOs working in the field of women and land rights came together to share their experiences at this meeting.

CWLR organises Consultation on muslim women’s land rights

The members of CWLR including Sathi all for partnerships, Social Development Foundation and Action Aid India jointly organized a consultation on women and land rights for women of the muslim community at Gungoh (Uttar Pradesh) on 26th and 27th April 2006.

CWLR recommends single-window approach to resources for women

CWLR, a coalition of groups and individuals working on land and resource rights for women, was represented at the Northern Regional Consultation on Engendering the Eleventh Five Year Plan which was held at Chandigarh from 1st to 3rd June 2006. Their recommendations for resource mapping and Village Resource Centres were well received by the consultation.
