CWLR and HIC jointly organize a meeting on Women and Land in Johannusberg, South Africa
A meeting was held to discuss ideas on how a women resource right agenda could take off in South Africa. Toward this end members of Habitat International Coalition (HIC) and Consult for women and Land Rights (CWLR) met two groups in Johannesburg to discuss the possibilities of such an initiative under the theme of strengthening women and shelter network of HIC. CWLR provides technical support to networks and organizations to develop the women and resource rights work as part of ongoing agenda of civil society to lobby the government for the same. The meeting was hosted and chaired by Ms Rebecca A. Hamlin, Executive Director of Planact.
National Workshop on Tribal Women and Land Rights Concludes at Jamshedpur
A three day national consultation with the support of Ministry of Tribal Affairs was organized from 26th – 28th February, 07 at Jan Vikas Kendra, Patel Bagan, Sunder Nagar, Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. The workshop was organised by Sathi All for Partnerships along with other Consult for Women and Land Rights (CWLR) members including Saheli Adhyan Kendra and Prerna Bharti with the support drwan form Ministry of Tribal Affairs .
Indian Women's Land Right Workshop concludes at Bhopal
On 11th October, 2006, CWLR, a network or organisations working on land and resource rights for women, concluded a two day capacity building workshop. About 45 participants across the country, attended the workshop hosted by IWID Bhopal, CWLR member and women's resource centre.
CWLR recommends single-window approach to resources for women
CWLR, a coalition of groups and individuals working on land and resource rights for women, was represented at the Northern Regional Consultation on Engendering the Eleventh Five Year Plan which was held at Chandigarh from 1st to 3rd June 2006. Their recommendations for resource mapping and Village Resource Centres were well received by the consultation.
ICTs to help women organic farmers in the Caribbean region

Land rights for women in Vietnam
01.04.2004 To further ensure equality for women in terms of economy, the revised land legislation under which both husband and wife share the same right with their lands was approved in 2003. Sweden's Agriculture Minister Highlights Women's Role in Agriculture
23 November 2005 ‘Gender equality is essentially an issue of democracy,’ said Ann-Christin Nykvist, Sweden's Minister for Agriculture, Food and Consumer Affairs at a roundtable discussion on gender equality and access to productive resources organized at the 33rd session of the FAO Conference (19-26 November 2005) in Rome.
International consultation highlights women’s right to land and productive resources
16.11.2005 Over 90 activists, academics, members of government and community women from India and Nepal, SriLanka, India, Nigeria, Krgystan, and Uganda assembled at UNDP hall, New Delhi, on November 13th and 14th for an International Consultation on Women’s Land and Resource Rights. Community women’s experiences were supplemented with legal and conceptual information from people who have worked on the issue at the policy and law reform level.
Indian women's land rights to be discussed at Third World Urban Forum

Indian women’s land rights agenda taken up at national, global level
01.03.2006 In view of the upcoming ICARRD (International Conference on Agrarian Reform and Rural Development) at Porto Alegre, Brazil, from 7 - 10 March, 2006, the Consult for Women and Land Rights(CWLR), a coalition of groups working on the issue of women’s access to land and resources for livelihood, consulted the National Planning Commission (NPC), Department of Women and Child Development (DWCD), and the Department of Agriculture and Cooperation on the Indian agenda.
